Nankana Sahib is a city in the Punjab province of Pakistan, significant for being the birthplace of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism. It is located about 75 kilometers west of Lahore and is considered one of the holiest cities for Sikhs worldwide.

The central gurdwara is known as Gurdwara Janam Asthan, which means the “birthplace of Guru Nanak.” This sacred structure is built over the place where Guru Nanak was born.

The gurdwara is a place of deep spiritual reflection and devotion.The gurdwara is architecturally beautiful, with intricate designs and carvings that reflect Sikh culture and heritage. It has a large central prayer hall where daily prayers, kirtan (devotional singing), and religious ceremonies take place.

Gurpurab, the anniversary of Guru Nanak’s birth, is the most significant religious event celebrated at Gurdwara Nankana Sahib. Thousands of Sikhs from across the world, especially from India, travel to Nankana Sahib to participate in the celebrations, which include prayers, processions, kirtan, and langar (community meal).
